DrawSplat PDFsplat™

Open a PDF. Keep it private.

Drop a PDF here or choose a file. Processing happens on this device.

Quick start

  1. Open or scan. Choose a PDF, drop one here, or scan paper and photos into a new document.
  2. Edit. Open Edit & annotate for text, highlights, images, and signatures. Select a text box to change its text, size, color, or opacity at the top of the tools panel.
  3. Organize. Drag page thumbnails to reorder them. Open Pages for rotation, cropping, duplication, or splitting.
  4. Save a copy. Use Undo to reverse an edit, then choose Save as… for PDF, Markdown, Word, OpenDocument, EPUB, or JSON. Your original file stays unchanged.

Your work stays in this browser. Save a copy before closing the tab.

Your files stay here

PDF bytes, page images, extracted text, and edits are processed in this browser. DrawSplat does not upload your PDF.

This prototype stores no document or recovery data after the tab closes.

Separate PDF

Create new PDFs without changing the open document.

Crop selected pages

Enter margins as percentages of each page. Cropping changes the exported page boundary without changing the source file.

Deskew / custom rotation

Use a small positive or negative angle to straighten selected scanned pages.

Add signature

Draw directly on the page with your finger, stylus, or mouse. Or add a typed signature or place a PNG/JPEG signature image. It remains movable and resizable until export.

Headers, footers and page numbers

Apply text to the selected pages. Use {page} and {pages} as placeholders.

Sanitize PDF copy

PDFSplat will rasterize the edited pages into a new PDF. This removes document metadata, scripts, attachments, forms, annotations and hidden content.

The sanitized copy will no longer contain searchable or selectable text. Keep the original until you verify the result.

PDF accessibility check

Review the document against the supplied local-government guide. Automated checks cannot certify WCAG conformance or replace assistive-technology testing.

Run the check to inspect document structure, text, images, forms, metadata, and annotation contrast.

Tagged PDF limitation: PDFSplat can preserve or flatten visual content, but its current PDF engine cannot author a complete tagged structure tree with headings, lists, tables, reading order, and artifact tags. Use the semantic HTML alternative or remediate the exported PDF in a dedicated tagged-PDF tool before public distribution.

Save as

Keep detected headings, bold/italic text, paragraphs, lists, and links from the current pages. Processing stays on this device.

Editable formatting is reconstructed; review complex layouts and tables. Markdown supports text structure, not exact fonts or page layout. Keep page appearance preserves the visual pages, including graphics, as images; text in those images is not editable. Scans need OCR for editable text.

Save as EPUB

Create an EPUB 3 ebook from the current PDF. Conversion happens entirely on this device.

Use a language tag such as en, es, or en-US.

Reflowable text retains detected headings, emphasis, paragraphs, lists, and links. Complex layouts may be simplified. Keep page appearance preserves all visual content as page images; text will not be selectable or reflowable. Scans need OCR for selectable text.

Page actions

Move selected pages

Choose the position where the selected page should begin.

Protect or unprotect a PDF

PDFsplat uses CipherSplat to protect a PDF inside an authenticated, encrypted .csplat package. The PDF is encrypted locally with AES-256-GCM; neither the PDF nor its password leaves this device.

Password safety

  • Use a unique password of at least 12 characters. A password manager can create and store one.
  • Send the protected file and password through different channels—for example, email the file and share the password by phone.
  • PDFsplat cannot recover a forgotten password. Test unprotecting the download before deleting the original PDF.

Capture an open tab or window

Share the tab or window showing your page, including a logged-in page or unpublished preview. Return here and capture a page. Scroll the source and capture again to add more pages. Only the visible area is captured; text becomes an image without OCR.

Choose only the content you want in your PDF. Captures stay on this device. Requires a desktop browser that supports tab or window sharing.

Each capture becomes one PDF page fitted to the image. Adding appends to an open PDF. Closing discards captures; download or add them first.

    Scan to PDF

Photograph paper, adjust its corners, and combine the pages into a PDF. Photos stay on this device. Scans are images; text recognition (OCR) is not included.

    Scan controls

On your phone, tap Take a photo and choose Camera if prompted. Take the picture, then confirm it to return here. You can also choose or drop JPEG, PNG or WebP photos · up to 20 pages · 40 MB per photo.

    Camera not opening?

In Android Settings, open Apps → Firefox (or your browser) → Permissions → Camera and allow access. For the live preview, also allow this site's camera request in your browser. If it still will not open, take a picture with your phone's Camera app, return here, and tap Choose photos.

Save each page before creating the PDF. Adding scans appends them to an open document. Closing the scanner discards this scan session.
